Nanyang Technological University Make A Thon Grand Finale – Participation as Judge
Vintage Management CEO, Akira Yasuda, participated as Judge in Make A Thon Grand Finale organized by the Biomedical Engineering Society (NTU) at Nanyang Technological University, consistently ranked among the top universities globally in the THE rankings.
Overview at NTU Make A Thon
At the final stage, 10 shortlisted teams delivered seven minute presentations followed by Q and A sessions, showcasing their ideas and innovations.Despite the limited preparation time, the level of creativity, depth of thinking, and execution was truly impressive. Many teams incorporated AI, considered sustainability, and addressed real unmet needs in healthcare with strong clarity.
The evaluation covered four key areas including novelty and originality, potential impact, design viability and market potential, and presentation. What stood out most was not just the ideas themselves, but how deeply each team understood the problems they were solving and how thoughtfully they envisioned real world implementation.
It was especially inspiring to see how participants approached complex challenges with limited resources, focusing on meaningful impact rather than polished outputs. Their passion and ambition made the experience incredibly rewarding from a judge’s perspective.
