KAIKO PROTEIN Powder MATCHA is a ready-to-mix protein powder prepared with MorSilk®. MorSilk® is a sustainable new source of protein produced from silkworms using proprietary manufacturing techniques.
Special nutrients found in silkworms
- The proteins that form the basis of silk consist of fibroin and sericin. They excel in moisturizing and repairing damage to skin and hair. Long-term intake of silk peptides has also been suggested to contribute to increase muscle mass and enhance immune function.
- DNJ (1-Deoxynojirimycin) is a rare sugar-like compound found in mulberry leaves and concentrated in silkworms. it also helps slow down the breakdown of carbohydrates in the small intestine and moderate post-meal blood glucose spikes and anti-glycation. Experiment results show that the spike in blood glucose after consuming 200 gram of steamed rice is 45.4%, 25% less than 69.3% under placebo effect.
- Polyphenol (Rutin / Isoquercetin) are plant-derived flavonoids with powerful antioxidant properties. They help neutralize free radicals that contribute to oxidative stress, resulting in overall wellness of the body.
- Chitin, derived from the exoskeletons of silkworms, is a fiber that binds to lipids in the digestive tract, helping reduce cholesterol absorption. It also has prebiotic effects and is good for gut health.
- Plant Sterols (Campesterol, Stigmasterol, beta-sitosterol), block the absorption of LDL Cholesterol.
